The Past is a Froeign Country 2002-6.jpg

The colourful reckoning of polarities visible in this work, part of collaborative exhibition with Philippa McDermott, emerged from a decade-long, international exchange conducted primarily through a mixed-media postal practice. Across this sustained dialogue, the artists traced shifts in place, transformations in the body and expectations of femininity through the lens of different cultures. The exhibition articulated a distinctly female perspective on distance, intimacy, and change.
